Ashridge House, Hemel Hemstead, Wedding Photography - Sophie & James
Sophie and James got married at the beautiful and historic Ashridge House in Hertfordshire on a sunny and warm afternoon.
They are both super friendly and easy-going people and shooting their wedding and engagement photo-shoot in Bournemouth a few months before the wedding was an absolute pleasure.
Ashridge House is one of my favourite wedding venues to date and I could easily spend one week there with a couple as there are so many great settings for couple photography, both indoors and outdoors.
The civil ceremony was organized on the beautiful central staircase and I love how the light came in through the upper windows and from the beautiful lanterns, also the perfect location for the highly anticipated bouquet throw.
The reception started with my favourite wedding moment – the speeches. This is usually the moment equivalent of the golden hour for lighting as the natural reactions are priceless, whether funny, emotional or sometimes slightly embarrassing. In any case, they are the perfect opportunity for some more shots.
Sophie and James were extremely well organised when they planned their wedding day and they put aside time for me and them to sneak out and take advantage of the great outdoors provided by Ashridge House for a photo-shoot with just the two of them while everyone else was having fun.
Great planning, beautiful people and an amazing wedding that I loved photographing – I always say I’m a very lucky guy to be doing this job!
